1st Generation Grand Cherokee?
The 1st generation Grand Cherokee was available with either a 4.0L I6 engine or a 5.2L V8 engine. Each engine requires a different computer: An ECM for 1998 4.0L I6 will not work with a 5.2L V8 engine of the same year. We carry computers for vehicle model years 1996-1998 with an average price of $260.
Before you place your order, please call us to confirm you have the right computer for your vehicle. Have your VIN or the OEM part number for your ECM handy-we'll need it for reference.
2nd Generation Grand Cherokee?
The 2nd generation Grand Cherokee was produced from 1999-2004. It was available in North America with a 4.0L Inline 6 engine and a 4.7L V8 engine. Both powertrains require separate computers for controlling the engine and transmission.
Both versions of the Grand Cherokee use the same computers for the same vehicle model year: An ECM for a 2003 4.0L I6 will also work with a 2003 4.7L V8. The same is true for transmission controllers (TCM) as well.
We have ECMs in stock for all vehicle model years, 1999-2004, with an average price of $360. We also carry TCMs for model years 1999-2003 with an average price of $260.
3rd Generation Grand Cherokee
The 3rd generation Grand Cherokee was produced from 2005 to 2010 and came available with four different powertrains: 3.7L V6, 4.7L V8, 5.7L V8 HEMI and 6.1L V8 HEMI SRT8.
3.7L V6 & 4.7L V8 Engines?
Grand Cherokees with 3.7L and 4.7L engines of the same year use the same engine computer: A 2007 3.7L Grand Cherokee ECM will also work with a 2007 4.7L Grand Cherokee. We carry ECMs for model years 2005-2009.
Our ECMs start at $240, up to $360.
5.7L V8 HEMI & 6.1L V8 HEMI SRT8
Grand Cherokees with 5.7L and 6.1L V8 engines of the same year use the same engine computer: A 2007 5.7L Grand Cherokee ECM will also work with a 2007 6.1L Grand Cherokee. We carry ECMs for model years 2005-2009.
Our 5.7L plug-and-play ECMs range from $640 up to $700.
